Men's Volleyball Ends 2017 Season in Arizona

MESA, Ariz. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team ended their season on Saturday at the NAIA Independents Men's Volleyball Qualifying Tournament. The Saints battled Benedictine-Mesa and came out on top 3-2 before falling 3-0 to Lourdes.

Siena Heights 3, Benedictine-Mesa 2: 20-25, 17-25, 25-21, 25-20 and 15-8.

After being down by two sets the Saints were not going to let their season slip to an early end. They battled back, led by Matthew Dugan with 20 kills and 12 digs. Tyler Hubbard-Neil added 14 kills and nine digs while Emilier DeJesus tallied 16 digs. Keegan Crawford earned 47 assists for SHU.

On the other side of the net, Logan Adcock led the Redhawks (11-15) with 16 kills and 12 digs. Nic Mueller had 11 kills and 14 digs while Jaron Jones finished with 47 assists.

Lourdes 3, Siena Heights 0: 23-25, 22-25, 25-14

The Saints battled hard but could not capitalize in the second game and fell 3-0 to Lourdes (Ohio). Hubbard- Neil was good for 16 kills and a team high seven digs. Crawford added 38 assists in the series.

On the Lourdes (19-7) side of attack was Eric Ubior leading the team with 13 kills and 4 digs. CJ Rilveria had 13 digs and Ryan Ferkel had 43 assists.

The Saints finish their season with a 16-11 record overall.
