Men's Volleyball Splits Contests in Second Day of Cardinal Stritch Invitational

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team competed in the second day of the Cardinal Stritch Invitational and split contests after defeating Morningside (Iowa) and then falling to Culver-Stockton (Mo.).

MATCH ONE - Siena Heights 3, Morningside 0
The Saints finished the match in three sets with scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-17.

Matthew Dugan and Tyler Hubbard-Neil both finished with 15 kills while Keegan Crawford dished out 37 assists. Emilier DeJesus completed the match with 19 digs and Julian Ayar led the Saints with six assisted blocks.

Morningside was led by Braden Hall with 14 kills and Caden Toben with 26 assists. Jacob Waln finished with 11 digs while Jacob Brand blocked three Saints' attacks.

MATCH TWO - Siena Heights 1, Culver-Stockton 3
The Saints dropped its second match of the day with set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 21-25 and 25-11. 

Dugan and Hubbard-Neil led the Saints again with 11 kills each. Keegan Crawford was the leader in assists with 32. Hubbard-Neil also led SHU in digs with 10 and assisted blocks with four, along with Julian Ayar who also finished with four assisted blocks. 

John Echel and Jordan Stellflue finished with 10 kills while James Heisse led Culver-Stockton with 25 assists. Zach Blasgen led the team with 17 digs and Daniel Fohey with seven assisted blocks.

The Saints will be back in action on Wednesday, Mar. 22, when they host Davenport. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
