Men's Volleyball Remains Perfect with Three Match Wins

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team won three games this weekend against Campbellsville (Ky.) and St. Andrews (N.C.) on Friday and Saturday.

SIENA HEIGHTS 3, CAMPBELLSVILLE 0 (25-14, 25-17, 26-24)
The Saints (5-0) started the set tied 3-3. This was the only tie of the set as the Saints went up and never looked back as the closest the match got was when CU came within seven. In the second set, the Saints took the lead and held it for the game. Campbellsville pulled to within four before kill by Hubbard-Neil, block by Ayers and Dugan and kill by Ayers ended the game. The third set was close but the Saints hung on and finished 26-24 for the match win.

Leading the Saints with nine kills and five digs was John Kalugar. Matthew Dugan added six kills, and 13 digs. Keegan Crawford had 27 assists, while tacking on three kills and three digs.

SIENA HEIGHTS 3, ST. ANDREWS 1 (26-24, 25-14, 28-30, 25-22)
The Saints and the Knights (2-4) fought hard throughout the second game of the weekend. Both schools stayed within two points of each other in the first match, SHU prevailing 26-24. Siena Heights got off to a quick start in the second set, jumping to a 16-9 lead and not looking back. Another tight set for the Saints as SAU cameback from a 17-12 defecit for the 30-28 win. In the fourth set, SHU managed a 9-6 lead and maintained the lead throughout the final set.

Leading the Saints was Matthew Dugan with 23 kills and 13 digs. With 10 kills each was Tyler Hubbard-Neil and John Kalugar, adding 10 and 11 digs, respectively. Keegan Crawford earned 41 assists for the Saints.

Siena Heights will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Lourdes for a 5 p.m. conference contest.

The Saints took the lead in the first set and maintained it throughout the set. In the second set was closer, however the SHU held on to put the final score at 25-17. With the Saints leading the series 2-0 they took the court for set three. They quickly jumped out to a 8-1 lead before the Tigers (2-5) pulled within three. This was the closest they would get and the Saints would hang on to win 25-20.

Matthew Dugan had 14 kills, and 12 digs for the Saints. Tyler Hubbard-Neil added eight kills, and nine digs. Keegan Crawford had 31 assists in the sweep.

Siena Heights will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Lourdes for a 5 p.m. conference contest.
