ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team opened the Mideast Conference play with a 3-0 sweep over Lawrence Tech on Wednesday at the SHU Fieldhouse.

The Saints started set one strong going on a 6-2 run and held the lead to finish set one. SHU opened set two with a 3-1 run. The Saints were able to increase the lead and take set two. The Saints opened with another 6-2 run in set three and finished the sweep. Siena Heights won with set scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-16.

The Saints (2-3, 0-1) were led by Tyler Hubbard-Neil, who finished the night with eight kills. Zach Haube, Matthew Dugan and Brody Davidson each added five kills for SHU. Arthur Gwoszdz had 16 assists. John Kalugar had six digs and five aces -- out of the teams 14 on the night.

Lawrence Tech (0-6, 0-2) was led by Haykel Chala who had six kills. Gospel Sua finished with 15 assists for the Blue Devils. The defense was led by Bart Kowalewski.

Siena Heights will be back in action on Saturday as they take on cross-town rivals Adrian. The game starts at 7 p.m. in the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center.
