Men's Volleyball Begins Season With Split

SYLVANIA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team opened the season with a split, falling 3-0 to No. 10 Robert Morris (Ill.) and sweeping Lawrence Tech 3-0, on Friday at the Lourdes Tournament.

The Saints began the day off with being swept by Robert Morris (Ill.) (4-1). Leading the Saints was Brody Davidson with six kills. Jeff Hardman finished with 18 assists and Matthew Dugan had 10 digs. Set scores were 25-18, 25-16, 25-16.

The Saints bounced back to sweep Lawrence Tech (0-3). Tyler Hubbard-Neil led the SHU attack with 13 kills. Hardman had 32 assists. Dugan and John Kalugar led the defense for the Saints with 10 and 12 digs, respectively. Set scores were 25-11, 25-16, 25-21.

Siena Heights (1-1) will meet Clarke (Iowa) at noon on Saturday before finished up with a 6 p.m. match against Lourdes (Ohio).
