Rodden and Johnson Garner All-American Status at the 2018 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships - Day 3

PITTSBRUGH, Kan. – Siena Heights men's track and field members Brent Rodden and Devonte Johnson each earned NAIA All-American status in the final day of competition at the 2018 Indoor Track and Field National Championships, on Saturday.

In the 800m run, Brent Rodden started out in front but was unable to hold on during the final lap as he finished in second place at 1:51.26. He was named the runner-up only .05 seconds behind winner Isaac Clark from Friends (Kan.).

Devonte Johnson took third place in the pole vault, clearing 4.90m. The final three vaulter left all belonged to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference with Curtis Bell from Aquinas winning as he cleared 5.00m.

Robert Drew took 11th in the shot put with a distance of 16.36m while Jacob Compagner finished 30th.

Overall, the Saints leave the Championships with three All-Americans: Rodden, Johnson and Compagner.

Siena Heights will begin the outdoor track and field season at the end of March.
