Men's Track and Field Earns Three First Place Finishes at the Findlay Classic

FINDLAY, Ohio – The Siena Heights men's track and field team traveled to the Findlay Classic & Elite Throws meet, on Friday and Saturday. The Saints had three first place finishers.

Winning their event for SHU was Devonte Johnson with his first place finish in the pole vault with a height of 4.90 meters and Juwan Willis tied for first place in the high jump, clearing 2.00 meters.

Brent Rodden also took home a first place finish in the 800m run with an automatic-qualifying time of 1:53.77, beating the second place performer by almost 2.5 seconds.

Second place finishers include Rees Nemeth in pole vault 4.45 meters and Thomas Mammel in the 600 meter run in 1:26.88.

Blaine Ellington placed fourth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.94. In the preliminaries for the 60m dash, Ellington finished in a provisional qualifying time of 6.92 seconds. In the 200m dash, Ellington took fourth in 22.87 seconds.

In the weight throw, Jacob Compagner took fourth with an automatic-qualifying distance of 17.40 meters. He also threw an automatic distance in the shot put, going 15.41 meters for seventh place.

The Saints will return to action on Friday and Saturday as they travel to Hillsdalle for the Hillsdale Widetrack Meet.
