Men's Cross Country and Track & Field Program Ranks Eighth in the NAIA

The Siena Heights men's cross country team and track & field team ranked eighth on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NAIA Program of the Year Standings, as announced recently.

In order to earn this award the cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field teams all have to qualify for the NAIA championships.

Points are distributed according to the place earned at the championship event. For example, first place earns one point, second is two points and so on. The team with the least amount of points earns the USTFCCCA NAIA Program of the Year title.

The SHU men's cross country team finished 29th (29 points), while the men's indoor team finished 17 (17 points) and the men's outdoor team tied for 13th place (13.5 points), to give the Saints 59.5 total points.

Fellow WHAC institution Indiana Tech took first place with an astounding 28 points. In second place was Marian (Ind.) with 45.5 points as Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) took third with 46 points.
