Men's Track and Field Travel To GVSU

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Siena Heights men's track and field team traveled to Grand Valley State to compete in the Al Owens Classic over the weekend. Overall the men finished in seventh place with a single automatic-qualifying performance.

Blaine Ellington crossed the finish line at 22.37 seconds in the 200 meter dash. Following closely behind Ellington was Robert Milton with a sixth place finish and time of 22.51 seconds.

Brent Rodden came out victorious as he took first place in the 800 meter run. Rodden finished with an automatic-qualifying time of 1:51.22.

Claiming fifth at 42.96 seconds was the men's 4x100 meter relay team consisting of Javon McQueen, Shae McClary, John Gillingham and Ellington.

The SHU 4x400 meter relay team ran a 3:20.72 race taking second place. The team consists of Dominic Muessig, Anthony Vermilye, Joshua Miles and Rodden. Another 4x400 meter relay team from SHU consisting of Ryan Dukes, Thomas Mammel, Milton and William Jackson took fourth place with a time of 3:23.33.

The Saints had an overall score of 40 points. The first place GVSU team finished with 194.50 points.

SHU will be back in action on Thursday, April 27, through Saturday, April 29, at the Hillsdale Gina Relays.
