Men's Track & Field Ends Outdoor Season with 12 All-Americans and Four Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

The Siena Heights men's track and field team finished sixth at the NAIA Outdoor Championships with 12 All-Americans in eight different events. Four Saints were recognized as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2016 indoor and outdoor seasons.

Two relay teams earned All-American honors, the 4x400m relay team and the 4x800m relay team. Members of the 4x400m team were Zakary Haines, Juarrezz Smith, Torin Anderson and Dominic Muessig. The 4x800m team was comprised of Anthony Vermilye, William Jackson, Brent Rodden and Muessig.

Individuals earning All-American status were Frederick Boyd (110m hurdles), Anderson (400m hurdles), Paul Jacobs (hammer throw), Richard DePalma (pole vault), Gerald Richardson (high jump) and Logan Gray (shot put).

Three seniors were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, Patrick Goebel, Christopher Whiting, and Jacobs. Stefan Wilkinson was the lone junior earning this award.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
