Seven Men's Soccer Players Named 2018 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes

2018 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Soccer Scholar-Athletes Release

KANSAS CITY -- Seven student-athletes from the Siena Heights men's soccer team were named 2018 Daktronics NAIA Men's Soccer Scholar-Athletes as announced by the national office.

Brent Rodden, Matt Lentine, Matt Wilkie, and Elmedin Celovic were the four senior representatives for SHU on the list. All four SHU seniors were on the 2017 list last season. Juniors Brayden Stephan, Austin Siterlet, and Leo Hisamatsu join the four seniors with scholar-athlete honors.

The 2018 list features 532 student-athletes that achieved a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA). In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.

Siena Heights leads all Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) members with seven members on the list. Indiana Tech and Lawrence Tech each had five student-athletes followed by Concordia (Mich.) and Michigan-Dearborn with three. Cornerstone totaled two members on the list. Cleary, Madonna, and UNOH each had one.
