Lima, Ohio The Siena Heights men's soccer team lost to UNOH in the opening round of the WHAC Conference Tournament this afternoon.

The Basics:

How It Happened:

As the opening round of the WHAC tournament kicked off the #7 seed SHU faced off with the #2 seed UNOH. The Racers started the game by getting a lot of shots off at our goal. Leo Hisamatsu (Junior, Osaka, Japan) made six saves in the first half. The Saints put up three shots in the half but none landed in the Racers goal. During the 46th minute one of UNOH's shots ended in the back of the net to give them a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The second half was much like the first half. SHU recorded one shot in the half but couldn't score. The Racers continued to put on shots as Hisamatsu made four more saves in the second half. In the 72nd minute, Northwestern Ohio scored again to make the lead 2-0.

Top Saints:

  • Hisamatsu had 10 saves on the day

The Opposition:

  • Irvin Machote and Jimmy Morrissey both scored the goals for UNOH

Up Next:

The SHU men's soccer team's season came to an end with the loss today. The Saints finished with a record of 6-12-1 and a WHAC conference record of 3-7-1. Justin Gray (Senior, Fraser, Mich.) lead the team in goals scored and points this season with 6 goals and 14 points. Hisamatsu finished the season with 66 saves and one shutout.
