Men's Soccer Ends Season With Loss to Northwestern Ohio

LIMA, Ohio – The Siena Heights men's soccer team fell 4-1 to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Northwestern Ohio in the final game of their season.

The Racers struck first as Pepe Cejudo netted a pass from Jose Pizarro in the 23nd-minute. Saints' goalkeeper saved a penalty-kick in the 36th-minute to keep Siena Heights in it, 1-0. Riley Swails scored the equalizer for SHU in the 40th-minute to make it 1-1. Kozan made another vital save on a penalty kick and breakaway to hold the score at 1-1 to finish the first half.

UNOH (11-5-1, 8-3-0 WHAC) came out strong in the second half, with a quick goal from Cejudo in the 49th-miute, finishing a pass from Dumisani Mnyange. Two more goals from the Racers sealed the deal, with goals from Petteri Pietola and Pascal Debowiak as Harry Robinson earned an assist.

Enoch Tsibu-Beckson led SHU with three shots as Brent Rodden and Rahbar Khan each managed two. Leading Northwestern Ohio was Pietola with six shots, including four on frame. UNOH outshot SHU, 20-9, and held an 8-0 corner kick advantage.

Goalkeeper Andrew Kozan made nine saves for Siena Heights, including two penalty kicks. Mark McMillllan started in goal for UNOH prior to being relieved by Caio Preza at halftime. Preza made two saves for the win.

Siena Heights ends their season 6-11-0 overall and 4-7-0 in the WHAC. The Saints miss the playoffs by three points as they end with 12 total points.
