Men's Soccer Overwhelmed by Indiana Tech in WHAC Play

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's soccer team fell 5-1 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action to Indiana Tech, on Wednesday.

The first half was quiet as the Warriors managed their first goal at the 43-minute mark when Andrew Higgins took a shot from the sideline to make it 1-0 going into halftime. Oswaldo Segura Diaz assisted the next two Indiana Tech goals scored by Brandon Dinsmore and Richard Doll, respectively, before the Saints would strike.

In the 69th-minute, Brent Rodden flicked a cross from Rahbar Khan in over the IN Tech keeper to score the Saints' lone goal of the match. Indiana Tech would score two more times before the game ended with goals from Malte Dennert and Fabian Kaufmann, assisted by Diaz and Higgins, respectively.

Rodden finished with four shots for the Saints as Elmedin Celovic took three. Four different Warriors managed three shots. SHU was outshot, 17-16, but held a 5-4 corner kick advantage over Indiana Tech (10-5-0, 6-2-0 WHAC)

Starting in goal for the Saints (5-9-0, 3-5-0 WHAC), Andrew Kozan stops four shots while allowing in four in 73 minutes of action. He was relieved by Allan Szczesniak who made two saves and allowed one goal. Earning the win for the Warriors was Edwin Rosado, stopping four shots.

Siena Heights will return to action on Saturday as they host Marygrove in a 3 p.m. WHAC contest.
