Alexandre Santos and Luis Miguel Anaya, members of the Siena Heights men's soccer team, were honored as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes, as announced by the governing body on Friday.
For the second-time, SHU senior Santos is honored as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete. Santos majors in chemical engineering while earning a minor in finance. He was named a WHAC Scholar-Athlete in both 2015 and 2016.
Anaya is a junior biology major who was also named to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.
In order to be nominated for this award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status. A total of 423 men received this award.
