Men's Soccer Falls to Marygrove in a WHAC Contest

DETROIT, Mich.—The Siena Heights Men's Soccer team dropped a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest to Marygrove 5-1, on Saturday.

Marygrove (6-7-3, 3-4-2) netted two goals in the first half to give the Mustangs a 2-0 lead.

In the second half, Marygrove netted another before the Saints answered at the 59:45 mark. Brent Rodden sent a hard shot past the Marygrove keeper. Rodden was assisted from Alessandro De Santis.

Leo Hisamatsu started for the Saints and stopped two shots while allowing two goals. He was relieved by Brandon Gonzalez at halftime who also made two saves. Austin Valentine was the winning-goalkeeper, stopping three shots for Marygrove.

Andres Mata led the Saints with three shots, one of which was on goal. Luis Miguel Anaya took two shots for the Saints, both on frame.

Siena Heights was out shot by Marygrove, 6-13, who also held a 5-1 corner kick advantage.

The Saints will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. for their final road contest of the season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. against WHAC opponent, fifth-ranked Davenport.
