Early Cornerstone Goal Dooms Men's Soccer in WHAC Action

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- An early Cornerstone goal doomed the Siena Heights men's soccer team in a 1-0 loss in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action, on Saturday. 

Only 51 seconds into the match, Kevin Nimmo finished the game-winner for Cornerstone when Kyle Doornbos slotted a pass across the box for the quick, far-post finish.

Alessandro De Santis and Rahbar Khan each took two shots for SHU while four other Saints managed to get shots off. Four different Golden Eagles took three shots a piece. 

Siena Heights (4-7-1, 1-5-0) was outshot 15-8 by Cornerstone, but SHU held a 4-1 corner kick advantage. 

SHU goalkeeper Leo Hisamatsu made two stops while winning keeper Dary Dewalt stopper three shots in net for CU (8-4-2, 4-1-2).

The Saints will be back in action on Monday when they make-up the postponed contest against Lawrence Tech. Kickoff in set for 7 p.m.
