Saints Five-Game Winning Streak Comes to an End With a 13-8 Loss at Lawrence Tech

FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. -- The Siena Heights men's lacrosse team fell on the road to Lawrence Tech 13-8. Jake Gallaher led the Saints with four goals in the losing effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Blue Devils took a 2-0 lead by scoring twice in the opening seven minutes of the first quarter. Gallaher scored the first of his for goals at the 5:23 mark of the quarter to cut the deficit in half. Two more goals by Lawrence Tech ended the quarter with a 4-1 score in favor of the home team.

The lead was extended to 5-1 with an LTU goal with 9:43 left on the clock in the second. Nolan Lyons netted a shot from Danny Kreitzer two seconds later to bring the Saints within three goals of tying. Another Lawrence Tech goal in the final seven minutes of the half put things at 6-2 as the teams entered the locker room at the intermission.

Gallaher scored twice in the third quarter and Nathan Lipon also tallied a goal as Siena would trail 9-5 going into the final 15 minutes.

Nate Ford scored to start the final quarter to cut the LTU lead to three. Gallaher shook the net after a Blue Devil goal to put things at 10-7. The Blue Devils rattled off three straight goals to take a six-point lead. Alex Gilbert scored the final goal of the game for the Saints, but the clock would reach zeros before the score could be tied.

• Gallaher added six ground balls and a caused turnover to his game-high four-goal stat line.

• Ford, Gilbert, Lyons, and Lipon each tallied a goal.

THE OPPOSITION

• Justin Light led the Blue Devils with four goals.

• Aidan Nolan scored three goals while Nik Kubik led all players with 15 ground balls.
