Men's Lacrosse Set For WHAC Tournament As Third Seed, Will Take on Indiana Tech in Semifinals

The No. 5 Siena Heights men's lacrosse team will enter Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament play on Wednesday, April 25. The Saints finished the regular season with the third seed, and will take on the second seed, Indiana Tech at 7 p.m. As the higher seed, Indiana Tech will host the contest.

Indiana Tech finished 12-1 overall and 6-1 in WHAC action. The Warriors are ranked third nationally, and their only loss of the season was to the second ranked Madonna. Jace Childs led the Warriors offense with 42 goals. Will McKinney added another 38 goals while Noah Puckett dished out a team high 31 assists. Goal keeper, Evan Schuster finished 8-1 on the season with 146 saves and 82 goals allowed for a 64% save percentage. 

The Saints finished the season 10-3 overall and 4-3 in conference play. Two of the three losses for Siena Heights came to top three nationally ranked teams. Shane Lewandowski finished with a team best 29 goals while Danny Orr and Garnet Potter chipped in 25 and 23 goals respectively. Potter led the way with 14 assists on the season. In goal, Tyler Hooper finished 10-2 overall with 120 saves and 96 goals allowed for a save percentage of 55.6%.

In the first semifinal contest, No. 4 Lawrence Tech will take on No. 1 Madonna. The winner from each semifinal, will face off in the WHAC Championship on Saturday, April 28, hosted by the higher seed.
