#5 Men's Lacrosse Drops Heart Breaker to CUAA in Regular Season Finale

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 5 Siena Heights men's lacrosse team dropped a 9-8 heart breaker to Concordia in the regular season finale. The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest took place Saturday afternoon.

Scoring the lone goal in the first quarter was Saint Nolan Lyons with an assist from Jake Krol. In the second quarter, the Saints were outscored 4-3, tying it 4-all at halftime.

The Cardinals (4-10, 1-6 WHAC) netted two in the third quarter, answered by a Ryan Mamo goal with 4:15 remaining in the third. Derek Martin tied it at 6-6 with 13:20 remaining in the final quarter of the game. Two goals from CUAA put the cards up 8-6. Derek Martin put the Saints within one at 8-7 with 9:24 remaining. At the 5:29 mark, Mamo scored off of a Potter assist to tie it at 8-8. With the deciding goal, the Cardinals scored a man-up with 3:35 on the clock.

Leading the Saints (10-3, 4-3 WHAC) with three goals and an assist was Mamo, while Martin added two goals. Lyons earned a goal and two assists as Danny Kreitzer and Potter each netted a goal. CUAA was led by Blake Blaisdell with three goals and Devin Wolever with two goals. Four different Cardinals netted a goal a piece.

Taking the loss for the Saints was Alex McCarthy, making six saves. Tanner Ludeman earned the win with 15 saves for the Cardinals.

The Saints await their fate, waiting their placement in the WHAC to finalize their WHAC Tournament bid.
