#5 Men's Lacrosse Seven Strong with Shutout Over Cleary

ADRIAN, Mich. – The fifth-ranked Siena Heights men's lacrosse team shutout non-conference opponent Cleary, 16-0, as they earned their seventh consecutive win, on Saturday.

Opening the scoring for the Saints (7-0) was Shane Lewandowski with help from a Danny Orr assist. Siena Heights cruised to the shutout victory with four goals in the first quarter, a goal in the second quarter, five goals in the third quarter and six goals in the final quarter.

Ryan Mamo had a standout performance with four goals and two assists. Adding two goals each was Garnet Potter, Alex Gilbert, Jake Henderson, Lewandowski and Orr. For SHU, Danny Kreitzer and Dan Diffenderfer each tallied a solo goal. Lewandowski and Kreitzer both earned three assists while Nolan Lyons, Orr and Potter each earned an assist.

Leading the Cougars (0-9) with seven shots was Peter Nichols. Danny Pudduck managed four shots for CU.

Starting in goal for the Saints and earning the win was Tyler Hooper with two saves. He was relieved by Alex McCarthy in the second quarter, who made seven saves to earn a shutout. Hunter Zieman led SHU with three caused turnovers and three groundballs.

Jacob Landsparger stopped five shots and allowed 11 goals prior to being relieved by Camden Newton in the fourth quarter. Newton made one save for the Cougars.

 As a team, SHU went 11-of-19 in faceoffs and 13-of-16 in clears. Cleary managed 8-of-21 clears successfully.

 Next up, SHU will travel to third-ranked Indiana Tech for a 7 p.m. Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest, on Wednesday.
