Hooper Named First Team All-WHAC; Eight Others Claim WHAC Honors

Siena Heights men's lacrosse goaltender Tyler Hooper was named First Team All-Conference by the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference, as announced recently. Earning Second Team All-Conference Honors was Shane Lewandowski and Patrick Albrant.

Hooper ended the season with 126 saves, including a game-high 20 saves against Lourdes in the final game of the season. He finished with a .621 save percentage to lead the WHAC against other goalies playing three or more games. Hooper was the lone goalie in the WHAC to earn a shutout, making 10 saves in the 14-0 victory over Concordia (Mar. 28).

Junior attacker Lewandowski led the Saints with 29 goals and 19 assists this season, finishing with a .609 shot-on-goal percentage and a .453 shooting percentage. Also taking Second Team honors was junior defender Albrant. He grabbed 14 groundballs while leading the team in caused turnovers with eight.

Six different Saints were named to the All-Academic team to lead the WHAC honorees. Two-time honorees include seniors John Holowaty and Seth McIntosh. Also recieveng this award is senior Mitchell Sulfaro and juniors Chris Acton, Derek Martin and Albrant. In order to be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Senior Cody Ross was named to the WHAC Champions of Character Team.
