Men's Lacrosse Rebounds With Victory Over RMU

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Siena Heights men's lacrosse rebounded with a 10-7 victory over Robert Morris (Ill.) in non-conference action, on Friday.

The Saints started off the scoring one minute into the game when Chris Acton finished a Nicholas Lyons pass. Shane Lewandowski added another before the Eagles scored one to end the first quarter 2-1 in the Saints favor.

SHU (3-1) went on a roll in the second quarter, outscoring the Eagles 6-2, taking an 8-3 lead heading into halftime. RMU fought back in the third, adding two goals before Siena Heights tacked on another.

Robert Morris (1-7) closed out the scoring with two final goals with less than five minutes left in the game after the Saints tallied their 10th goal with 12:27 on the clock.

Leading the Saints with three goals was Acton, also earning two assists. With two goals and two assists was Lyons as Lewandowski added on two goals and an assist. Earning solo goals was Nathan Lipon, Ryan Mamo and Matt Roesner. Alex Gilbert and Seth McIntosh each had an assist.

With two goals apiece, Gaven Juelich and Jack Emery led the Eagles, each adding an assist. Vince Sirico, Kyle Sherrill and Zach Barth tacked on a goal each for RMU.

Winning goalie Tyler Hooper stopped 15 shots for SHU. Mitchell Sulfaro picked five groundballs for the Saints. Goaltender Callaghan Quinn made seven saves for Robert Morris.

The Eagles outshot the Saints, 33-26, while SHU held an 18-17 turnover advantage.

Next up, Siena Heights will return to action on Tuesday when the Saints host Concordia in a 7 p.m. conference contest.
