Men's Golf Places Second at Yellow Jacket Invitational

PERRYSBURG, Ohio -- The Siena Heights men's golf team competed in the Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by Defiance College. The tournament was held at the par 72, 6918 yard, Belmont Country Club. After the first day of the two day invitational, the Saints sat in fourth place and were able to improve to a second place finish overall, behind the host, Defiance. 

As a team, SHU carded a 332 and a 317 for a 649 total. The Saints finished seven strokes behind the first place finisher. Finishing in third place was Columbus State CC, Earlham in fourth and Lourdes in fifth. 

Leading Siena Heights was Nicholas Sanscrainte, finishing in third place with a 82 first round score and a 76 second round score for a 158 total. Aaron Bitz finished close behind in fourth place individually with a first and second round score of 81 and 78 for a 159 total. Also placing in the top ten was James Monteith, finishing in a tie for seventh carding an 88 and a 76 for a 164 total. Rounding out the Saints scoring was Darien Zeluff with a 83 and an 87 for a 170. The last golfer for Siena Heights was James Kuenzer (86 first round, 94 second round and 180 total).

With the conclusing of the Yellow Jacket Invitational, the Siena Heights men's golf 2017 season will come to a close.
