WAUSEON, Ohio -- Tim Combs was the top Siena Heights men's golfer, tying for 23rd individually as the Saints placed ninth at Defiance's Jon P. Spiess Memorial, which took place at Ironwood Golf Course on Tuesday. A total of 85 golfers from 10 teams participated.

Combs carded a four-over-par 76 on the 6,995-yard, par-72 course. Also, Nicholas Burnham and Andrew Ioanou had 79s to tie for 46th while Michael MacLean shot an 80 to tie for 52nd.

Owens Community College (Ohio) won the team event with a score of 286. It was led by medalist Harrison Long, who shot a 67.

Siena Heights finished with a team score of 314.

The Saints will compete again on Monday, Sept. 15, at the second Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference jamboree, which is set to be hosted by Cornerstone.
