Men's Bowling Takes Eleventh and Twelfth at AHIBC #1 and #2

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Siena Heights men's bowling team placed 11th and 12th, respectively, out of 27 teams in the first two American Heartland Conference Tournaments of the season at Palace Bowl, on Saturday and Sunday. 

As a team, SHU had a tournament total of 6,713 to take 11th. Notre Dame (Ohio) won the event with a 7,358 tournament total.

In day two, SHU finished with a tournament total of 6,555 to earn to 12th place. Winning the tournament with a total of 7,441 was once again, Notre Dame (Ohio).

The Saints had a day one high score in game two with a four person team score of 982.

The Saints got off to a slow start on day two as they finished with a team score of 857 in game one but were able to finish up game four with a solid team score of 975.

During the first tournament, Siena Heights recorded a three-game baker set with a high 729 pin fall coming in the second baker game. During the second day, Siena Heights recorded a four-game baker set with a high 771 pin fall coming in the first baker game.

William Shaffran finished in sixth place on Saturday for the Saints with a five-game total of 1,050, averaging 210 with a tournament-high of 245 in game four. Close behind with a total of 1,025 and average of 205 was Joshua Criscenti in 11th place. Winning the AHIBC #1 tournament with a total of 1,130 and average of 226 was Patrick Huebschman from Marian (Ind).

On Sunday, Steven Cadwell was the top-SHU finisher compiling a four-game series of 830 with a 207.5 average. Followed by Shaffran and Criscenti finishing in 30th and 65th place, respectively. Winning the AHIBC #2 tournament with a 919 total and average of 229.75 was Chris McCarty from Muskingum (Ohio).

Siena Heights will be back in action when they compete at the Lenawee Recreation Center for the Adrian College Open Tournament, on Saturday.
