Men's Bowling Finishes Fourth at WHAC #1

WESTLAND, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's bowling team placed fourth in a 10 team field at the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference jamboree of the 2016-17 season at Westland Bowl, on Saturday.

The Saints struggled to find their lines out of the gate, compiling a first team game five-game total of 843, putting them in eighth-place to start the day. Throughout the day, the Saints' scores improved during the team games with scores of 889, 947 and 975.

Siena Heights recorded a four-game baker set with an impressive 830 pin fall to help the Saints move up four spots and take fourth place.

As a team, SHU had a tournament total of 6,616 to take forth. Lawrence Tech won the event with a 6,956 tournament total, followed closely by Davenport with a 6,950 total. SHU trailed third place Indiana Tech by 252-pins.

Joshua Criscenti was the top-SHU finisher with a four-game score of 779, averaging 194.75 to place 10th in the 90-bowler field.

Finishing 16th for Siena Heights was Steven Cadwell, compiling a four-game series of 762 (190.5 average).

Also for the Saints, William Shaffran placed 20th after throwing a team high-score of 232 in a single game. He totaled 745 (186.25 average).

Siena Heights will be back in action when they travel to Columbus, Ohio for the first AHIBC tournament of the season. It will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 29 and 30.
