Men's Basketball Falls to Madonna in Regular Season Finale

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team traveled to take on Madonna in it's final regular season contest. The Saints fell to the Crusaders, 72-67. 

The Saints (12-16, 7-13 WHAC) entered halftime with a 35-32 deficit and was unable to fight back in the second half. 

Keith Jordan Jr. led the way for Siena Heights finishing with a double-double, pouring in 21 points and grabbing ten rebounds. Josh Winowiecki added 14 points while Tony Jackson II and Trevor Holston each contributed 13. Hadi Akle, Nick Randle, Winowiecki and Jackson all dished out two assists. Jackson finished with a team high three steals. 

Joshua Reynolds finished with 24 points and nine rebounds for the Crusaders (17-12, 11-9 WHAC). Chris Dierker added 16 points and nine rebounds. 

Siena Heights connected on 24-56 (42.9%) from the floor, 3-19 (15.8%) from the three point line and 16-23 (69.6%) from the free throw line. Madonna shot 24-62 (38.7%) from the field, 8-22 (36.4%) from the three point line and 16-21 (76.3%) from the free throw line. 

Next up, SHU will head into Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament play as the seventh seed. They will take on Indiana Tech, the second seed on Wednesday, Feb. 21 with a 7 p.m. tip off. ITU will host the contest.
