Men's Basketball Drops Home Finale Against Aquinas

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Siena Heights men's basketball team fell, 70-62, to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Aquinas in the regular season home finale, on Wednesday.

The game started close, tied up 9-9 with 15:29 remaining in the second half. Aquinas started to pull away, earning an 11-point lead, 28-17, with 6:21 on the clock. SHU fought back, cutting the lead to 33-27 with 1:38 in the half. AQ earned a 38-27 halftime lead over SHU (12-15, 7-12 WHAC).

Aquinas (17-12, 13-6 WHAC) came out to a quick start, going up 50-34 with 14:01 left in the game. Siena Heights cut the lead down to 10 but it was enough as Aquinas claimed a 70-62 victory.

Tony Jackson II led Siena Heights with 23 total points, 15 points in free throws, while grabbing seven boards. Also helping the Saints was Keith Jordan Jr., managing 12 points, five rebounds and three blocks. Aquinas was led by a Frank DeVos double-double, 17 points and 10 boards.

As a team, SHU shot 19-54 (35.2%) from the floor, 5-25 (20.0%) in three-point land and 19-23 (82.6%) from the line. Aquinas went 26-60 (43.3%) overall, going 3-13 (23.1%) behind the arc and 15-18 (83.3%) from the charity stripe.

Next up, Siena Heights will travel to Madonna for the regular season finale on Saturday. The WHAC contest will start at 3 p.m.
