Men's Basketball Prepares for Three Games This Week: Akron-Wayne, #1 Cornerstone and Lourdes

THE GAMES
The Siena Heights men's basketball team has three games this week, starting with a home event against non-conference opponent Akron-Wayne (Ohio) on Monday. SHU will travel to No. 1 Cornerstone and Lourdes (Ohio) in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action, on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.

Siena Heights is currently 10-12 overall and 5-9 in the WHAC after winning both contests last week in a convincing fashion. As a team, the Saints shoot .468  from the floor, .345 behind the arc and .696 from the free throw line. SHU averages 70.9 points per game while averaging 12.0 assists and 5.7 steals each contest.

The Wayne Warriors are 5-14 overall, no statistics are available.

Cornerstone sits at 21-3 overall and 13-1 in the WHAC, the lone loss coming from No. 5 Indiana Tech. The Golden Eagles average 80.4 points per game while earning a shooting percentage of .488 from the floor, .369 in three-point land and .695 from the line. CU also earns on average 15.0 assists and 4.1 steals per game.

Lourdes holds a 10-13 record, including a 3-11 WHAC slate. The Gray Wolves manage an average of 67.4 points per game, including a shooting percentage of .407 from the floor, .305 behind the arc and .663 from the charity stripe.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Siena Heights is led by Tony Jackson II who averages 14.4 points per game and 8.4 boards per game. After a standout week against UNOH and LTU, Nick Randle averages 13.0 points per game and 3.1 assists per game. Also helping the Saints with 12.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game is Keith Jordan Jr.

Leading the Golden Eagles with an average of 20.4 points per game is Kyle Steigenga, also earning 9.2 boards a game. Sam Vander Sluis grabs on average 12.0 rebounds each game while earning 15.5 points a game. Also averaging double-digit points for CU is Michael Bradshaw with 14.5.

The Gray Wolves are led by Clif Snow with an average of 10.5 points and 6.3 boards per contest. Malik Thurman is close behind, averaging 10.4 points and 3.7 rebounds each game.
