#5 Indiana Tech Defeats Men's Basketball in WHAC Action

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Siena Heights men's basketball team fell 74-63 to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent, No. 5 Indiana Tech on Saturday.

Five quick points from Nick Randle put SHU up 5-0 to open the contest, followed by another five points from Trevor Holston to give the Saints 10-2 lead with 16:21 left in the first half. The Warriors (18-3, 10-1 WHAC) tied it up 20-20 with 10:17 on the clock. Siena Heights stayed close, overcoming an eight-point lead to only trail 40-36 at halftime.

The Warriors came out quick in the second half going on a 17-5 run to make it 57-42 with 14:04 on the clock. The Warriors held onto their lead for the remainder of the game.

Leading Siena Heights (7-11, 3-8 WHAC) with 20 points and three assists was Randle, sinking four three-pointers. Keith Jordan Jr. hit three three-pointers for SHU in route to 14 points and five boards. Also scoring 10 points for the Saints was Tony Jackson II. The Warriors were led by Joel Wincowski with 19 points and four boards. Darren Groves and Scott Schwieterman added 17 and 14 points, respectively.

The Saints shot 23-53 (43.4%) from the floor, managing 10-24 (41.7%) behind the arc and 7-12 (58.3%) from the charity stripe. IN Tech went 28-61 (45.9%) overall, 7-15 (46.7%) in three-point land and 11-12 (91.7%) from the free throw line.

Siena Heights will return to action on Wednesday as Concordia comes to the SHU Fieldhouse to take on the Saints in an 8 p.m. WHAC contest.
