Men's Basketball Falls to Lourdes in WHAC Action

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team fell short to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Lourdes, 69-57, on Wednesday.

The first half started close as the Saints held a 10-9 lead with 12:59 remaining. The Gray Wolves took over with a 16-5 run and held on through the half, leading SHU 35-24 at the half.

Siena Heights (7-10, 3-7 WHAC) found some life as they cut the LU lead to 45-41 with 10:28 remaining. Lourdes found their stride, managing a 16-point lead with 3:45 left and held on for the remainder of the contest.

Leading the Saints with 18 points was Keith Jordan Jr. while adding nine rebounds. Also adding nine boards was Josh Winowiecki, managing 10 points. Jon Hovermale had 10 points as Hadi Akle earned seven assists. Clif Snow led LU (9-10, 2-8 WHAC) with 17 points while Malik Thurman added 14.

As a team, Siena Heights shot 21-50 (42.0%) from the floor, including 8-15 (53.3%) behind the arc and 7-13 (53.8%) from the line. The Gray Wolves went 25-54 (46.3%) overall, 7-19 (36.8%) in three-point land and 12-19 (63.2%) from the charity stripe.

Next up, the Saints will host fifth-ranked Indiana Tech in a 5:30 p.m. WHAC contest, on Saturday.
