Strong Second Half Not Enough as Men's Basketball Falls to Michigan-Dearborn

ADRIAN, Mich. -- A strong second half wasn't enough as the Siena Heights men's basketball team fell 94-84 to Michigan-Dearborn in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest, on Saturday.

The visiting Wolverines took an early lead over the Saints, leading 52-31 at halftime. Siena Heights fought back, cutting the lead to nine points on numerous occasions and holding a 53-42 second half advantage, but it wasn't enough as the Wolverines held on for the win.

Leading Siena Heights was Keith Jordan Jr., managing a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Nick Randle scored 17 points, adding four assists and four steals while Josh Winowiecki earned 16 points. Five different Wolverines scored in double-digits, Xavier Crofford, Gage Throgmorton, Ashton Curd, Cody Kegley and Mafiaion Joyner.

As a team, the Saints shot 31-60 (51.7%), went 7-22 (31.8%) behind the arc and 15-20 (75.0%) from the free throw line. UM-Dearborn shot 33-48 (68.8%) from the floor, 9-18 (50.0%) in three-point land and 19-29 (65.5%) from the charity stripe.

Next up, Siena Heights will travel to Northwestern Ohio for a 7:30 p.m. WHAC contest, on Wednesday.
