Men's Basketball Falls to #1 Cornerstone in WHAC Action

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team hosted No. 1 Cornerstone in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Tuesday. The Saints dropped the contest 84-63.

Throughout the first half baskets were traded but the Golden Eagles (6-2, 2-0 WHAC) maintained the lead for most of the half. The Saints were able to tie the ball game multiple times, tying it up at 32 with 2:09 remaining in the first. The Saints scored the first bucket of the second half, cutting the deficit to just two points, but Cornerstone opened the gap from there.

Nick Randle finished with a team high, 15 points, shooting 6-8 from the field and 3-4 from the three point line. Josh Winowiecki added 13 points for the Saints (2-3, 1-2 WHAC). Leading Siena Heights on the glass was Tony Jackson II with six. Hadi Akle dished out a team high, three assists.

From the field SHU finished 24-54 (44.4%) and 8-24 (33.3%) from three. From the free throw line the Saints went 7-10 (70%). In the contest Cornerstone shot 52.5%, 31-59 and 29-4%, 5-17 from behind the arc. At the charity stripe the Golden Eagles shot 89.5% (17-19).

Next up, the Siena Heights men's basketball team will host Mid-Atlantic Christian at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24.
