Pearl Efforts Help Men's Basketball to Victory Over Madonna

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Christopher Pearl scored 29 points in Siena Heights men's basketball 78-59 victory over Madonna in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action during the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness game, on Saturday.

The game started out back-and-forth between the Saints and Crusaders until SHU went on a 13-1 run, taking the lead 30-18 with 3:35 remaining in the first half. The Saints extended their lead through the remainder on the game.

For the Saints (14-12, 8-10 WHAC), Pearl ended with 29 points and five rebounds. Keith Jordan Jr. and Jerrell Martin finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Leading the Crusaders (11-15, 6-12 WHAC) with 15 points was Andrew Myers. Chris Dierker and Austin Johnson each added 10 points for MU.

Siena Heights shot 22-53 (41.5%) from the floor while going 8-14 (57.1%) in three-point land and 26-28 (92.9%) from the free throw line. Madonna shot 18-62 (29.0%) from the floor, 2-15 (13.3%) behind the arc and 21-29 (72.4%) from the charity stripe.

SHU will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Aquinas for an 8 p.m. conference contest.
