UNOH Defeats Men's Basketball in WHAC Action

LIMA, Ohio – The Siena Heights men's basketball team fell 70-62 to Northwestern Ohio in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest, on Wednesday.

The Saints and Racers were evenly matched throughout the fifteen minutes of action, SHU trailing 22-23 with 4:51 remaining in the first half. UNOH took off and led the Saints 32-23 at halftime.

Siena Heights (13-12, 7-10) quickly caught up, leading 33-32 with 16:08 left on the clock. Eventually, the Racers went up 56-48 and SHU was unable to recover.

Leading the Saints was Josh Winowiecki with 13 points and two blocks. Also scoring in double-digits for SHU was Jerrell Martin, Tony Jackson II and Nick Randle.

Lawrence Jackson led the Racers (16-9, 11-6) with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Sadeeq Bello added 17 points and three assists.

As a team, the Saints shot 23-52 (44.2%) from the floor and 3-20 (15.0%) behind the arc. UNOH shot 24-55 (43.6%) from the floor and 7-16 (43.8%) in three-point land. Siena Heights shot 13-16 (81.3%) from the charity stripe while the Racers went 15-20 (75.0%).

Next up, the Saints will host Madonna for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Saturday for the final game of a SHU triple-header, part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Games.
