Pearl Finishes with 20 to Help Men's Basketball to Victory Over Lawrence Tech

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Christopher Pearl ended with 20 points in the 75-59 Siena Heights men's basketball victory over Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference foe Lawrence Tech, on Saturday.

SHU came out quick, going up 13-4 with 13:04 remaining in the first half. The Blue Devils responded and tied-it-up 19-19 with just over seven minutes remaining in the first half. The Saints left the first half with 32-26 lead over LTU.

Lawrence Tech (1-8, 1-6 WHAC) came within one with 12:52 remaining in the game, 45-44. Siena Heights went on an 8-0 run to jump-start the lead and never looked back, eventually winning by 16 points.

Leading the Saints was Pearl, ending with two back-to-back dunks to seal the Blue Devils' fate. Pearl had 20 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Also landing in double-digits for SHU was Tony Jackson II and Jon Hovermale with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Jerrell Martin grabbed 12 boards for the Saints.

Three Blue Devils earned double-digits: Erik Davenport (13), Payton DeWildt (12) and Robbie Geoghegan.

Siena Heights (7-4, 4-3 WHAC) outrebounded Lawrence Tech, 38-24.

The Saints shot 50.0% from the floor and 33.3% behind the arc while the Blue Devils hit 21-48 (43.8%) and 23.5% in three-point land.

Next up, the Saints will play in an exhibition game against NCAA Division I program Eastern Michigan, on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
