Explosive Second Half for Men's Basketball Hands #RV UNOH First Conference Lost

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Three Saints scored in double-digits to help the Siena Heights men's basketball team to a 90-70 victory over NAIA receiving-votes Northwestern Ohio in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest, on Wednesday.

SHU started the game out strong,leading 17-8 with 11:52 remaining in the first half. The Racers battled back and went on to lead 26-29 before the Saints eventually tied it up 32-32 at halftime.

Siena Heights (6-4, 3-3 WHAC) opened the second half with a dunk by Jerrell Martin the Christopher Pearl 30 seconds later and never looked back. The biggest lead of the night belonged the SHU after a 13-0 run for Siena Heights, ending with a dunk and two free throws from Pearl.

Martin led the Saints with 20 points and five rebounds. Pearl added on 16 points and six boards. Also in double-digits for SHU was Tony Jackson II with 15 points and five assists. Nick Randle led at point guard for Siena Heights, ending with nine points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Three different Racers ended in double-digits: Corbin Pierce (18), Sadeeq Bello (15) and Desmond Duke (14).

Siena Heights bettered the UNOH (7-3, 5-1) shooting percentage on the floor, earning 37-64 (57.8%) over the Racers' 26-62 (41.9%).  Behind the arc, SHU went 6-20 while UNOH shot 8-26. At the charity stripe, the Saints shot 10-14 (71.4%) while Northwestern Ohio went 10-13 (76.9%).

Next up, the Saints will host Lawrence Tech for a 7:30 p.m. WHAC contest, on Saturday, following the women's game at 5:30 p.m.
