Men's Basketball Overwhelmed by #11 Cornerstone

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team fell 94-53 to 11th-ranked Cornerstone on Wednesday.

The Golden Eagles (19-5, 14-3) took the lead early in the first half. Siena Heights was unable to catch up, trailing 51-36 going into halftime.

Christopher Pearl lead SHU (9-16, 5-12) with 12 points and five rebounds. Three Saints finished with seven points, George Goodman, Myles Copeland and E.J. Finch.

For the Golden Eagles, Kyle Steigenga scored 22 points and grabbed nine boards while Cory Cox scored 17 points.

Overall, the Saints shot 19-60 (31.7 percent) from the field and 6-16 (37.5 percent) behind the arc. Cornerstone finished 28-57 (49.1 percent) on the floor and 9-24 (37.5 percent) in hree-point land.

Siena Heights will play Michigan-Dearbon on Saturday in a WHAC contest. Gametime is set for 3 p.m.
