Second Half Surge Propels Men's Basketball Past CUAA

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team finished with a strong second half to defeat WHAC opponent Concordia, 75-60, on Saturday.

The Saints were trailing 33-27 at halftime. George Goodman put-up seventeen points in the second half to help the Saints to a convincing 15 point victory.

Goodman finished with a game-leading 28 points. Christopher Pearl and Jerrell Martin both finished in double-digits. Pearl finished with a double-double, 10 points and 11 rebounds. He also earned five assists. Martin added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Alec Turner finished with 17 points while Jerald Booker added 14 points for the Cardinals (10-11, 7-8).

As a team, the Saints shot 25-55 (45.5 percent) from the field, out-shooting CUAA that shot 20-55 (36.4 percent). Siena Heights made 7 of 14 (50.0 percent) three-pointers and 18 of 25 (72.0 percent) free throws. The Cardinals shot 6-21 (28.6 percent) behind the arc and 14-24 (58.3 percent) at the free throw line.

SHU (9-13, 5-9) will return to action on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. at Indiana Tech.
