Men's Hoops Drops Regular Season Finale, But Qualifies For WHAC Tournament

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team dropped a 74-51 decision to Aquinas in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Sunday. Despite the setback, SHU clinched a berth in the WHAC Tournament during the weekend.

Christian Covile was Siena's leading scorer against Aquinas, finishing with 13 points.

Host Aquinas (18-12, 14-8) took a 34-15 lead into halftime and held its advantage in double-digits the rest of the way.

Anthony Williams had 27 points and six assists to lead Aquinas, which held a 40-29 rebounding advantage over SHU (11-19, 7-15).

The visiting Saints werent 19 of 52 from the field (36.5 percent) and 3 of 11 from three-point land (27.3 percent) while Aquinas was 28 of 59 (47.5 percent) and 11 of 30 (36.7 percent), respectively.

Siena Heights claimed the No. 8 seed in the WHAC Tournament and will visit top-seed Davenport during Thursday's quarterfinal action at 7:30 p.m.
