2018 Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District FB and VB Release

GREENWOOD, Ind. -- The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the members of the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District™ Football team on Thursday. Siena Heights seniors Adam Glanders (Elkhart, Ind.), Izayah Newsom (South Bend, Ind.) and Brady Tanguay (Trenton, Mich.) were the SHU representatives for the NAIA District 1 team.

Glanders tallied a 3.80 GPA and finished the season with the second-most receptions on the team with 25. The business major also led the team in reception yards (426) and touchdown catches (4).

Newsom has a 3.81 GPA in business and had 37 tackles, which were the fifth-most on the team, two sacks, and the second-most tackles for loss with eight.

Tanguay (3.96 GPA, mathematics) made 10 of his 18 field attempts on the year. His season long was a 43-yard kick. He was 30-35 in extra point attempts and finished second on the team in scoring with 60 points. His 3.96 GPA tied for the highest GPA in the district.

With their selection to the all-district team, these three athletes advance to the national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America™ consideration. The Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-America™ football team for the NAIA will be announced on Thursday, December 13.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District™ NAIA District I team features student-athletes from NAIA institutions in 22 different states and was voted on by Sports Information Directors in the region.
