Football Hosts Olivet Nazarene for Annual Pink Game

THE GAME

The Siena Heights football team hosts Olivet Nazarene in a Mid-States Football Association crossover contest on October 22, for the Annual Siena Heights Pink Game. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

SHU is coming off of a 21-14 loss to MSFA Mideast opponent Taylor (Ind.) on Oct. 15 in Upland, Ind. Curtis Smith Jr. ran for two Siena Heights touchdowns. The Saints out-threw the Trojans 210 yards to 78 yards but were out-rushed, 234-139. The loss set the Saints back to a 3-3 record overall and 2-3 record in the MSFA Mideast League.

In the 2015 match-up Siena Heights won 45-35 with an explosive fourth quarter after Dont'e Fox ran in three touchdowns. For ONU, a pair of Tiger quarterbacks had strong days. Matthew Wray completed 20 of 37 throws for 299 yards and three touchdowns. Derek Derkes went 10 of 16 for 100 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

SHSN will provide live video for each Saints' home game. Play-by-play will be called by Chris Renwick with Doug Goodnough providing color commentary. Renwick is in his first year with the Saints broadcast team while Goodnough resumes his role in SHSN after a year hiatus.

SHSN and WLEN 103.9 FM have also enjoyed a five-year partnership. All games will be audio-streamed online at WLEN.COM while select games will be broadcasted live on the radio.

NEXT UP
Siena Heights will travel to Saint Ambrose (Iowa) for their eighth game of the season on Saturday, Oct. 29, for a 2 p.m. EST (1 p.m. CST) MSFA crossover kickoff.

Currently, the Fighting Bees are 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the MSFA Midwest League. SAU will take on Missouri Baptist on Saturday, Oct. 22.
