Football Set to Host #17 Saint Xavier

THE GAME

The Siena Heights football team will host No. 17 Saint Xavier (Ind.) in a Mid-States Football Association crossover game on Sept. 24. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.

Siena Heights is coming off of a 41-0 loss against conference-rival Concordia. The shutout was the first loss of the Saints 2016 season. SHU is 2-1 overall and in MSFA Mideast League play.

The only other time the SHU football program was shutout was in a 12-0 loss against Virginia Union in Richmond, Va. The loss took place on Sept. 6, 2014, the first game of the Saints' 2014 season--the same season Siena Heights won a share of the MSFA Mideast League title.

All Siena Heights football games will be webcast on the Siena Heights Sports Network, which can be accessed via the Stretch Internet link on WWW.SHUSAINTS.COM. Live stats can be followed online at WWW.SHUSAINTS.COM.

SHSN will provide live video for each Saints' home game. Play-by-play will be called by Chris Renwick with Doug Goodnough providing color commentary. Renwick is in his first year with the Saints broadcast team while Goodnough resumes his role in SHSN after a year break.

SHSN and WLEN 103.9 FM have also enjoyed a five-year partnership. All games will be audio-streamed online at WLEN.COM while select games will be broadcasted live on the radio.

NEXT UP
The Saints have a bye week before returning to action on Oct. 8 when the Saints host third-ranked Saint Francis (Ind.) for the Siena Heights Homecoming game.

Saint Francis (Ind.) is currently 3-0, with three convincing wins against Trinity International (Ill.), Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) and Taylor (Ind.).

The Cougars, who are currently third on the NAIA Poll, will face Lindenwood-Belleville in an MSFA crossover contest on Saturday, Sept. 24. USF will also play Marian (Ind.) on Saturday, Oct. 1, prior to hosting the Saints.
