ADRIAN, MIch. -- The Siena Heights competitive dance team placed runner-up at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships, which took place Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.
The Saints finished with an overall score of 82.83, finishing behind team champ Aquinas (90.10).
SHU had the second-best score of 80.23 in prelims and trailed only Aquinas, whose prelim score was the day's second-best routine (87.90). Madonna had a 77.60 score in prelims.
During finals, Aquinas put together's the competition's top performance with 90.83 points. SHU had an 83.70, which is its season-best dance.
Madonna placed third with an overall score of 73.18. Concordia was fourth with 73.03, Marian took fifth (67.52) and Lourdes finished sixth (59.66).
All-WHAC honors were also handed on Saturday. Three SHU dancers, Olivia Fortress, Kaya Robinson and Rafe Jacobs, were named to the Second Team. Jacobs and Robinson were also Academic All-WHAC.
Kaitlyn LaVoy was selected to the WHAC Champions of Character Team.
