Siena Heights University Director of Athletics Sue Syljebeck has announced Liz Teague as the head coach for the SHU cheer and dance program. Teague was named the interim head coach in January 2022 after the departure of the program's first head coach Angie Heath in the fall of 2021.

"I am very excited to announce the hiring of Liz Teague as the second coach in our cheer and dance program," said SHU Director of Athletics Sue Syljebeck. "Our cheer and dance program has existed for ten seasons, and Liz has been a part of nine of those seasons. I can think of no one better to take over than someone who has helped get the program nationally recognized on both the cheer and the dance side."

Teague has been a part of the Saints cheer program since 2013, when she was a student-athlete on the team. Upon her graduation in 2017, she became a graduate assistant until 2020. She spent one season (2020-21) as the assistant coach before transitioning into the interim head coaching role last year.

"I want to thank Sue and everyone at Siena Heights for believing in me and giving me this opportunity," said Liz Teague. "Siena has been near and dear to my heart since I got here in 2013, and I can't say I am ever going to be ready to leave, and I am very excited to be here."

A four-year member of the competitive cheerleading squad as a student-athlete, Teague has been a part of the Siena Heights cheer and dance programs for nine of ten seasons the program has existed. In October of 2020, Teague was selected to the 10-member Siena Heights Cheerleading All-Decade Team in honor of her contribution as an athlete.

Teague graduated from Siena Heights in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and earned her master's degree in clinical mental health counseling in 2020.
