Cheer Takes Fifth in the Saints Spectacular

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights cheerleading team competed in the Saints Spectacular, on Sunday. The Saints finished fifth of six team in the home event.

Winning the competition with dominating 89.30 points was Concordia, only taking off 0.5 points in deductions. The remaining five teams were in a close battle for the next five spots with about ten points separating the second and sixth place finisher.

Taking home second place was cross-town rival Adrian with 75.83 points, losing one point in deductions. Trine fell into third after a 2.25 points deduction left them with 75.52 points overall.

In fourth was Indiana Wesleyan with 73.32 points after a 2.25 points deduction. Following the Wildcats were the Saints with 70.58 points after 3.25 points were deducted. Michigan-Dearborn rounded out the competitors with 65.65 points.

Next up, the cheer team will compete in the NAIA Northeast Region National Qualifier--hosted by Siena Heights--slated for a 10 a.m. start on Saturday.
