SHU Cheer Finishes Fifth at the Halo Classic; Dance Runs Exhibition Routine

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights cheer and dance teams competed in the Halo Classic hosted by the Saints, on Sunday. The cheer squad finished fifth while the dance team did not compete.

Early into the dance routine, a performance-ending injury dropped the Saints down to only five dancers, leaving the routine to be ruled as an exhibition event.

In the final standings, the cheer team finished with 74.93 points after taking 2.0 points away in deductions. The fourth place finishers, Aquinas College, ended with 75.67 points after a 1.0 point deduction.

Winning the cheer competition was Saint Francis (Ind.) with a total score of 92.73. In second with 82.70 points was Point Park (Pa.) while Adrian rounded out the top three with 77.25 points.

Both the cheer and dance will perform at the Saints Showdown hosted by Aquinas on Sunday, February 5.
