Cheerleading Finishes Sixth in NAIA Regionals

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights cheerleading team finished sixth of nine teams competing in the 2016 NAIA Cheer & Dance East Regional Qualifier, on Saturday.

The Saints started off the competition scoring a 83.22 in the preliminary round, taking fifth place.

In the final round, Siena Heights bettered the performance, earning 85.10 points.

Per the new NAIA Regional Competition rules, the overall score must be .25 of the preliminary round score and .75 of the final round score. This left the Saints with an 84.63 overall score for sixth place.

Also competing was Aquinas, Concordia, Culver-Stockton, Lourdes (Ohio), Robert Morris (Ill.), Saint Ambrose (Iowa), Saint Francis (Ind.) and Saint Francis (Ill.).

Corcordia took the top-spot with an overall score of 95.69 points. Saint Francis (Ind.) finished second with 94.05 points while Saint Ambrose (Iowa) took third with 90.94 points.
