John Kolasinski enters his 21st season on the bench for the Saints and his 36th season as a collegiate head coach.
Kolasinski is a two-time NAIA Northeast Regional Coach of the Year, a five-time New England Coach of the Year, a five-time Maine Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, a member of the Husson Hall of Fame, and the Robert Ish Smith Award winner. He currently serves on the American Baseball Coaches Association Board of Directors, he served as the president in 2019.
Currently, Kolasinski has accumulated a career record of 575-877-2 in 35 years of coaching. The skipper won his 500th career game on March 6th, 2019, when the Saints beat Bethel 22-9. In 2012, he claimed his first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament championship, guiding the Saints to a 4-0 record in the conference tournament, and then coached the Saints to a 2-2 record in the NAIA Tournament Daytona Beach Bracket. He has three NAIA Northeast Regional appearances and six Maine Athletic Conference Championships under his belt.
Kolasinski has coached eight Conference Players of the Year, 123 NAIA Scholar-Athletes, and 16 All-America Honorable Mentions. He also coached in the International Tournament in Japan during the summer of 1998.
Kolasinski currently stands as the coach with the second-most wins in Siena Heights baseball history. In the 2018 season, Kolasinski became the longest tenured coach in SHU history. His best season was his 33-25 record in 2012 -- a 25-win improvement over the previous season.
Kolasinski has coached all four NAIA Gold Glove honorees at Siena Heights and coached 43 players that earned all-conference accolades for their play on the field, including 12 first-team selections and four second-team honors. He has had 124 WHAC All-Academic honors during his tenure. The Saints are one of only two NAIA teams to be honored as an American Baseball Coaches Association Scholar team every season since the award has been given starting in 2015-16.
Several of Kolasinski’s former players and assistant coaches have gone on to coach elsewhere, including three college head coaches and over 10 assistant college coaches.
Numerous others who have played for or worked under Kolasinski are high school and legion coaches. Five former players have signed professional baseball contracts.
Kolasinski got married to his wife, Kim, on July 4th, 2019, and they reside in Adrian, Michigan.
